in answer to all your questions...

ok.
so many of you are confused at the morse's living situation.

well. simply.
we are moochers.

for the three years that jake and i have been married,
we have been living in someone's place.

we started out at a cute p.g. basement apartment and lived there for 3 months.
then, to save a little money, the opportunity arose to live in our friend's place
while they left for summer sales.
(we call it the summer condo.)

then as summer was ending,
my grandparents opened their basement up to us to live in
until they left for the warm south in the fall.
once they drove away, we took control of the place.
(we call it the winter home.)

we have repeated that cycle for 3 years now.
that.is.a.long.time.

sadly, my grandma's health was affected from all the "vacationing"
(but good for us cause we want them closer!)
so they announced they were coming back early this spring.
permanently.

jake and i made the decision to get out of their hair
and finally take the step towards living in our own place.

so we began the search.
and low and behold,
two days later we found this little place.
(we call it the alpine cottage.)

moving is part of our repertoire.

i am just thankful that my grandparents are staying here close to family now
and what perfect timing.

i'm hoping that one day i can tell my kids that they can't get everything they want cause i lived in someone else's house for three years.
that'll teach' em!

a tidbit

did you know that team USA has won 25 medals already?
that total matches the number of medals won at the end of torino 2006 winter games...
and we're not even done yet!

GO TEAM USA!

for kelly

we had a baby shower.
she is having a boy in just a month!
(hence, the mustaches)
i got the idea from this lovely lady

we stuffed ourselves with anna's famous navajo tacos.
kelly's favorite. naturally.
we all appreciated it.

some of the ladies.
where we already set up a phone tree to notify each other when kelly goes into labor.
nerd alert!

me, baby brecken, and kelly.

love you kelly.
we cannot wait to meet little baby boy!

"snow white's cottage".
it's in alpine.
and we couldn't be more thrilled!

we are moving out on saturday,
just in time too cause grandma and grandpa are coming back thursday.

we are FINALLY growing up and living in our OWN place.
i'm ecstatic about decorating.
can you just picture it?????

so if you don't hear from us,
just know that we are frantically packing and moving outta here!

the festivities--it was his turn

last year i planned valentines. this year it was his turn...

so we ate steak,

which melted in my mouth.
i think the people behind us were annoyed with my "ooo"ing and "aww"ing...

what he gave me,
(along with chocolate covered strawberries. a new favorite.)

and i made pink champagne.
fitting right?
(virgin of course.)

this man knows the way to my heart.

side note: he didn't want any pics.
so sorry if you're sick of my face.
he avoids the camera like the plague.
and that's my doing
so... double sorry.

valentines day love list

as i mentioned before, i love this holiday.
and what's wrong with being reminded about love?
quite frankly, the world could use more of it, and i could show it more often.
so here goes:

i love jake,
because it he makes me laugh so hard that i snort.

i love my family,
because they are great cheerleaders. through the good and the bad.

i love my jobs,
because i'm doing what i love. and getting paid to do it.

i love nachos,
because that is how i feel close to cancun.

i love my friends,
because they indulge my shopping addiction and are great sounding boards all the while.

i love where i am at right now
because it's a time of many changes. lots could happen in a few months and i'm excited that we can roll with those changes and be able to take on new experiences.

i love my savior,
because He knows me. and i know that i am a child of God.

happy v-day everyone. hopefully you felt a little love yesterday. if not, i love you!

(picture is from holga. loving it as well!)

for your man

butch bakery of new york.
they are cupcakes.
for men.
i saw this website screaming of testosterone...
all the while selling cupcakes.

i bet my man's cupcake can beat up your man's pink, frosted, sprinkled cupcake!

back on the horse

went jeepin on saturday...
i must admit i was nervous.
but the best way to get over the fear
is to get back on that horse.
(or behind the wheel in our case).

it was a good first step.
the snow and mud made it a little sketch
but i think i am ready for the sands of moab.
(did i just say that out loud?)

needless to say, i made it out of there safe and car in tact.
(if you are asking why i am such a wimp, read here.)

and i was happy to see a grin on mr. morse's face.
i'll face my fears any day just for that.

knock that one off that list

i've finally accomplished a new years resolution, and not last minute.
i "slurpped" the past two years of my blog into books.
(it's about time bryton.)

i actually enjoyed myself.
and loved coming across pics like this one.

i'm working on last year's.
(300 pages!! gotta cut that down...)

one resolution down,
about ten more to go...

bryton went to brighton

with my little bro's,

and him.

it was great to get back on the slopes
and back on the board.

hoping that we can squeeze in another trip this season.
once is just not enough.
