spring fever

am i jumping the gun if i'm already looking forward to spring?
knowing Utah, i might have just jinxed us for another storm...
yesterday felt so nice so i'll whisper my wishes:
more of those days please!

pic taken of our neighborhood last spring.
p.s. thanks for all the nice comments about our maternity pics.
we had a riot and so happy they turned out!

blizzard warning

it's been a while since i've heard of a blizzard warning in utah.
if it really lives up to all this hype (which holy cow people, it isn't the end of the world)
they say it's going to be a bad one
and that freezing temperatures will be in it's wake for the next few days.

so we aren't taking any chances (and we may be looking for a good excuse...).
tonight for dinner we are having homemade pizza rolls and hot chocolate.
and our netflix just arrived so we are hunkering down.
not sure if we will be able to come out of hibernation until Thanksgiving dinner is served...
until then, be safe and take care.

quite frankly

quite frankly i don't listen to christmas music until after thanksgiving.  i feel like thanksgiving deserves it's own holiday.
quite frankly i'm glad jake's at the jazz game so i don't have to sacrifice my "Lie to Me" time.
quite frankly i'm not ashamed of my addiction to tums.  this acid reflux is brutal.
quite frankly the snow fall yesterday was a lot more pleasant than this morning's sleet and slush.
quite frankly i think jake's a little jealous of my body pillow...

quite frankly i'm a feeling a little intimidated of becoming a mommy.  Heavenly Father is going to trust me with this little being?  i eat junk food, sleep through three alarms, don't stop fully at the 4-way stop, and instantly change into sweats the minute i get home from work.  and God is going to trust me?

quite frankly, i'm grateful and in awe.  every day.

holy cow torrential rain storm

did any of you experience that down-pour today?
i did while walking out to my car after work.
soaked.

but i love summer rain storms
especially the pretty clouds afterward.
and the smell.

happy wednesday friends.

our home town

living in cozy alpine, it's typical to see farms and ranches around the neighborhood.
it makes our weekly bike rides an adventure.

and cute little barns and old homes like this are all over,
mixed in with the new developments.

i just love coming across these small beauties.
makes it more "homey".

one more reason we love our home town.

thank goodness for fridays

have a happy looooong weekend.

jake is on a campout with my dad and brothers.
so me, my mom, and sisters are having a girls weekend.
this means movies, shopping, lunch, and pedicures.
so fun.

oh, and happy independence day.
not sure what our plans are yet...
just happy we both have work off.
(our plans better entail fireworks. i just love fireworks.)

until next week,
peace.

remember these lovelies?

well i'm "electronically channeling" these cupcakes to my mom for her birthday today.
(don't worry, that's not all i got her.)

love you mom.
love you for you-
your faith, love, sincerity, loyalty, and all those fabulous shoes.

have a happy birthday.
yours truly,
Bryton

dear mother nature,

i graduate friday.
but there is a rumor floating around that it is supposed to snow all weekend.
i'm writing to you so you can dispel this silly rumor
and tell all the weather men they are wrong.
would be much appreciated. glad we talked about this.

love,
Bryton

why i love utah

these pics are from spring break in st. george.

didn't know dixie rock could have so many adventures.

while we were here,
home was experiencing snow storms.

only in utah could you experience red rock
and blizzards in one day.
that's why i love it here.
