we went snowmobiling! This was my first time. it was really fun, but those machines are heavy. trying to maneuver that thing through trees was a little tough. jake had no problem, though, i think he got a work out digging mine out a few times. we both decided that when we "grow up" we want a cabin that you have to snowmobile to. you are all invited :)

lately

"life is like an hourglass...
eventually everything hits the bottom
but all you have to do is wait it out
until someone comes along
and turns it around"
i found this quote, and i don't even know who it is by, but it definitely fits right now. i think it is my new favorite quote. it's quotes like these that have changed my view on some things lately. glad that browsing the internet does something other than wasting time.

happy 2009
jake and i celebrated the end of 2008 and the beginning of 2009 the best way we knew how...PARTY!!! my sis and her husband threw a black and gold party, which meant everyone was dressed in black and gold, the decorations were black and gold, and even some of the food! we danced the whole night. yes, jake danced the whole night. it definitely reminded me of lone peak stag dancin days....

a whirlwind
OF TWO YEARS!!!
can't believe it came so fast! i don't know what i did to marry such an incredible man, but each day i am amazed at how good he is to me. sometimes it's uncanny how i will be thinking how crusty i look, and he will tell me i am beautiful. sigh. so lucky. i think i will have to pay for being blessed with such an good man in the life to come, but what ever that job is, it is so worth it!!!!

a little bit of sass

jaleah, emily (the bride!), alison, and me.
these girls were my roommates my freshman year at byu at the lovely heritage dorms. good times. i don't think any of us went to bed at a descent time. how we survived, i don't know.
the restaurant served awesome non-alcoholic drinks. i got the shirley temple and jaleah got the apple martini. yes, that is cotton candy on top of my drink. so good!

birthday boy
happy birthday jake!
I don't know if many of you know this about jake, but jake hates the spotlight. So i'm sure he is not happy with me posting this, but i couldn't resist. AND to make it more fun, i've posted all of my favorite memories of jake since we've been married. Why not post the funniest ones? After all, he is always making me laugh. Happy Birthday babe!
on our honeymoon. they gave us a special "honeymoon dessert" and it looked like a whale so jake is joining in.
sometimes i wonder how i got so lucky to marry my best friend. i love how we can just be together all the time now and never have to go "home". marriage is awesome. and my hubby is awesome! happy birthday!

happy thanksgiving....Morse style
The Morse family celebrated Thanksgiving the best way they know how--Jeepin in Moab. This was my first experience and, wow, it was not what I expected. The Morse boys are fearless and we would climb ANYTHING and don't ask me how we made it up those cliffs every time. We went on a trail called "Hell's Revenge" and what a more perfect name for that trail. It took all day and it was crazy how the jeeps could just climb anything in the middle of nowhere. Don't worry, we did break an axle and had to finish the rest of the trail in 2 wheel drive. I was scared out of my mind thinking we would be stranded, but the boys saw it as a challenge and you should have seen their faces when this "opportunity" arose to upgrade when they got home. Boys.
