bye bye
october flew by. did anyone else feel the same way?
we didn't even have time to carve pumpkins.
my birthday is on saturday
and all i've been doing is justifying purchases this past week...
and the snow kind of threw me off this morning.
november is coming.
when did it all fly by?

park city and the coaster
spent the saturday with our friends in park city over our fall break. and decided to brave the coaster...
it was jake and i's first experience...
we had a good time.
thanks friends. and for the good suggestion on pizza.
park city is my fantasy/dream place to settle.
twist my arm to play all day, eat good food, and shop.
one day...

cause this is thriller
once october hits, my family's life is consumed by Thriller. both little sisters dance every night in the production; sierra in slc and jessie in the traveling cast. and my sweet mom tries to make almost every one of them. i saw sierra friday night at kingsbury and of course loved it. (we get to see jessie in st. george on my birthday!)
anywho, sierra as a zombie was creepy and hilarious. people avoided her...tee hee hee....crazy what a little halloween will do to sweet little people like sierra. i love it all!

the small things

just some of my favorite things in the cottage. it's the little things that really make it home for us. only one room left to finish....the nursery!
top left: Hotel Paris mirror and picture in bathroom, top right: bedroom door leading to deck
middle right: Romeo and Juliet clock hanging in the kitchen, middle left: my kitchen butterflies
bottom center: laundry room picture

it tickled
the landlords left again and when that happens...the cat gets clingy. her favorite place is the shoulders. she then goes to town licking your neck and ears. very gross and very surprising. hence the surprised face.
just a snap shot of the weekend. we did go up the canyon (more of those pics later) and had our last bonfire for the season. gotta love nature, even if it does climb on your back...

on the football field
last night at Timpanogos's High School football game, one of my students, a linebacker, honored me on the field. (now put the pieces together: hormonal and a surprise like that? water works.) the coach found me at school and made sure i was going (cornering me was more like it.) so i showed up and all of a sudden my name is being broadcasted at the game and ordering me to the field...
as i walk onto the field, there's my student, with a gift basket in the middle of the field. the announcer is reading off my student's written little speech about me. so embarrassing. i didn't know this student even liked my class. he slept and ate most of the time...i hope i didn't embarrass him when i hugged him in front of the whole student body....
my parents even came. (hence the pictures.) and a little more embarrassing as i'm sure teachers that come to football games to be honored get pictures taken by their parents...oye.
this was something small that the football team did, but holy cow it meant so much. being so nauseous in the mornings, i feel like i'm giving my students less than decent. but this cute 3 second "honor" was reassuring. i love what i do. i love high school. (as a teacher mind you.) and i love Timpanogos High. i'm on cloud nine for the moment and i'm going to enjoy it. it's even making me physically feel better. so be it!
