sister time

My dear sister, Jessie, took me to the annual Thriller production.  Weird not having any of my sisters in it this year, but it's always a fabulous show.  Halloween just isn't the same without it!  Thanks Jess for thinking of me.  I loved being your date.

my early birthday date

We went out early for my birthday last weekend only because it was the only night we could find a babysitter.  So we ran with it.  We ran all the way up to Salt Lake and ate at Blue Iguana.  Ever since I had Myer, I cannot get enough mexican so those enchiladas hit the spot.  Then we walked around City Creek.  Walked.  Strolled.  So nice.  Then to finish our date off, we ended with key lime tarts.  My idea of the ultimate birthday treat.  Me and key lime go way back.

The best part of the night was being with Jake.  We needed this time just us.  I'm so glad birthdays come around at least once a year so we can plan these special dates.  Cause I think he's pretty special.
As always, thanks Jake for spoiling me.
I love spending birthdays with you.

the weekend run-down

--slept in till 8:45 on Saturday
--Myer's hair is finally growing out from his awful haircut
--Jake and I went out for an early birthday date (more on that when my birthday arrives)
--the last of the Halloween decorations are up
--hung out with my students at a Storytelling gathering at Provo High. Myer loved the extra attention.
--packed away some of Myer's baby clothes and made room for big boy clothes
--learned how to ride a scooter
--we're 1 1/2 going on 15
--the end of the term is this Friday
--and naturally all the Halloween candy is already gone.

And that be the weekend run-down.  Hi Monday!

the pumpkin patch

On the last day of Fall Break we finished it off in true Fall fashion by hitting up Corn Belly's with my mom and brother.  We were surprised, this was no small pumpkin patch. It was a little boys playground with all the tractors, cow trains, and wooden slides in shapes of buses and trucks.  We couldn't get enough.  His favorite, and well our favorite, was the hay ride pulled by a tractor.  And as if the driver knew the little wish of M, he turned the flashing lights on as it got dark.  The night was complete.  I love experiencing a simple pumpkin patch through the eyes of my son.

Then we left for home with 3 new pumpkins in our arms.  Myer picked out his own and held it so tight.  He calls it his "pun-min" and even signs it.  He's catching on real quick that October is an important month over here.
