i did it again

i try to read books leisurely so they last longer
but...
this one i just couldn't put down.

i bought it monday
and finished it last night.

urg.
i hate it when i do that.

unexpected, spur of the moment, so worth it trip

(the cast: frankenstein, his wife, egyptians, vampire victim, michael jackson, and jessie)

phone call saturday afternoon:

mom: "you wanna drive down to st. george monday
and see jessie at tuacahn?"
me: "what?"
mom: "let's go! i'm going!"
me: "ok..."

so we did.
we drove the four hours to support little sister in Thriller down in st. georgy.

this may surpirse you,
being st. george and all,
but it was 34 degrees tuesday night!!
burrrrrrrrrr.
AND
it snowed the first 10 minutes of the show.

so we wore our winter clothes in southern utah.
(another first!)

but who cares when you see your sis in the program!!

so proud of her once again.

seriously,
if any of you have a chance to see it a tuacahn,
don't even blink.
nothing compares to the scenery, production, and atmosphere.
(yes, it's even worth it in the freezing weather)

then we braved the snow storm home.
oh boy,
that's another 5 hour story...

even when he was four years old...

he was darn cute.

i pretty much squealed when i saw this picture
and HAD to have it.

oh mr. jake,
how things never change.

the catch-up project

the reason why i started this blog was to compensate for my lack of scrap booking abilities.
but,

i never did a photo album/scrapbook of our wedding day.
(terrible, i know. don't judge me.)

it has been my new years resolution for like two years
and i am FINALLY getting around to it.
and the easiest way for me to do it, is online.
(what? technology made me do it)

so...
from a friend's suggestion, i am using blurb
and i am almost done!

phew.
i don't feel so guilty anymore.
stupid new years resolutions...

he got my mind off things by
shopping,
eating,
and sleeping in.

cause this is thriller

both of my sisters are in the production thriller.
sierra- made a special number and got to walk around like a zombie
jessie- is a new member of odyssey (utah's professional dance company)

luckily they performed together the same night.
(all the way up in logan!)
so we made the drive and watched the-ever-so fabulous production.

i was a proud sister that night.
so proud of sierra for letting go of her sweet innocent personality
and taking on the role of a creepy dead person,
so proud of jessie for holding her own amongst all of those seasoned dancers.
she fit right in!

the bakery in salt lake city.
and oh boy it was delish.

and the best part was looking across the table to this guy.
mmmm yummy :)

but i must admit,
he had to compete with a very big,
sugar glazed,
cream filled,
sweet bun-peach.

and he won.
(i needed a drive home...)

blessed day

sunday was maddix's big day.
and all the sisters were there in support.
(the boys didn't want a pic. lame)
we love you little man.

she got a ticket to vegas

which is no surprise cause this girl is a.m.a.z.i.n.g.

my mom and i got to watch her try out in front of nigel, mary, and mia.
too bad they didn't show it on t.v. cause it was fantastic.
we are so proud :)

we are all so pumped!

keep an eye out for her tonight on sytycd
cause she made it to vegas babay!

this could be an adventure

as i have no idea what i am doing.

you are looking at the new event coordinator for the Deaf Olympic Snowboarding team.

since the previous event coordinator just bailed,
i am right in the thick of things and over my head.
but honestly? i am treading water with a huge smile on my face.
as the saying goes, and as annoying as it has been this year,
"when one door closes, another door opens."
i don't know how involved i will be with future events, but i am taking it all in NOW.
so wish me luck and...
