my girl

got married on tuesday and i got to be a part of the celebrations.

first, was the reception monday night.
so b.e.a.u.t.i.f.u.l.
(the bride and the atmosphere)

while she was standing in line,
i got to hang out with this man all night.
super lucky.

then tuesday was the wedding day.

but oh so gorgeous.

i don't know why i am holding her flowers...
maybe i'm sharing the weight??
anywho, the ceremony and luncheon were lovely,
her family was sweet,
his family was hilarious,
and i had a good time.
yes, i shed a few tears for my girl that has found a man that is worthy of such a prize.

thanks jaleah and mark for letting me be a part of your special day.

shake it off and step up

a farmer owned an old mule. one day, the mule fell into the farmer's well. the farmer, hearing the mule braying, rushed over to see what had happened.

after assessing the situation, the farmer decided that neither the mule nor the well was worth the trouble of saving. instead, he called his neighbors together and told them what had happened. he enlisted their help to haul dirt in to bury the old mule in the well and put him out of his misery. at first the old mule was hysterical. but as the farmer and his neighbors continued shoveling and the dirt hit his back a thought struck him. it suddenly dawned on him that every time a shovel load of dirt landed on his back, he could shake it off and step up. so this he did blow after blow...shake it off and step up.

it wasn't long before the old mule, battered, dirty, and exhausted, stepped triumphantly over the wall of the well. what seemed like it would bury him had actually been the means of his rescue. yes, it's all in how you handle the adversity. no matter how much dirt is thrown on you, just...

we all got back together to embarrass the bride-to-be.
these are my freshman roomies.
we lived together at the byu dorms...
that's where we met,
and got crazy,
and had good times...early in the morning,
etc., etc., etc...

but this girly girl has been with me all the way.
love her to death.
she could be the cutest bride-to-be i know.
mark is one lucky duck.

the party was great.
i tried to embarrass her,
but if any of you know jaleah, she doesn't get embarrassed.
it was a worth a try :)
