climbing for...
Tyler's Birthday!!!
our favorite people in the world, ash and ty, let us crash the birthday bash and spend all day with them. but wouldn't you know it, i forgot to take pictures of the two of them together. of course. so below here is what i did get of the day.
ash and i's fab shoes. i guess they have to be tight so you can grip the wall...don't ask me how you grip the wall with your toes...anyway they KILLED. they were SO tight.
me!
um this was my second time rock climbing..yes i am on the kiddie wall and that little boy was kicking my behind. (p.s. i love looking up at myself with a harness. awesome)
hey look! it's me in the lovely frog position that i was constantly in cause i was tired, scared, or stuck. i eventually did make it to the top. cute huh?
Thanks ty and ash for letting us come along for the WHOLE day. we hope you don't ever get sick of us cause it seems we can't do anything on the weekends without you.
Happy Birthday Tyler!

my turn
this year was my turn for valentines day. along with one of my most favorite people in the world--ashley, we planned a very different valentines. so what did i plan? well...
i blindfolded jake and drove him all over so he wouldn't know where we were. but really, as a guy, he knew EXACTLY where we were each turn, each spin, and stop. humph. anyway, this crazy course led us to the mall. (were you surprised?) the deal of the game was to buy an outfit for that evening's dinner--which was chef's table--thanks to a gift card. so i had to buy jake an outfit and he had to buy me one. so ash and i dropped off our jaw-open boys and went on our way to shop. hehe.
to top off the night we pulled out our artistic abilities from preschool and finger-painted a portrait of one another.
jake's drawing of me. just a hint--the sign for "i love you" is what is in the top left corner..if you were wondering :)
it was a different valentines day but that's what you get when bryton is making the plans (shopping, dinner, and the arts...) next year is jake's turn. hmm...wonder how different that's going to be.

we met back and the results were surprising. i trained my hubby well might i just say. i was very impressed (and honestly relieved)
enjoy the model pics that we were SO excited to pose for...only each other...

dancing queens
last night at our "building an eternal family" institute class, we learned how to dance. yes, jake danced. for the two years jake and i have been married, we have always wanted to take dancing lessons. we dance anyway at home, but we wanted to learn how to do it the right way. (jake does the robot and i use my socks to slide on the floor) so last night we added a few more dance steps to our learning list--the fox trot and the cha cha. we then got to try out our mad skills at the institute dance...
oh the memories of school dances...
oh the memories of school dances...
sad to say that a good song never came on to try out our fox trot. but we did, however, do the cha cha on every song. yes mad skills!
i think this is something jake and i could do together...like a class or something. it would be something different than the typical watch t.v. routine. so i will be looking for an adult beginning ballroom class where jake and i can keep working on our mad skills. keep you posted!

yummy
my favorite part about valentines is these little things right here. i look forward to this holiday just so i can have my own little box. or two. or three. i get giddy when i see them at the grocery stores all lined up and pretty. (i'm sure i could have them any time of the year, but absence makes the heart grow fonder) don't give me the box of chocolates or the heart sugar cookie--these are they way to my heart. i am even eating a box right now. go figure. what is your favorite valentine treat?

danica's wedding
one of my really good friends from my deaf studies program got married on thursday. her new hubby's name is jake. that basically means we were destined to be good friends :) (jake and jake don't really have a choice) anyway, she invited us to the whole deal--the sealing, the luncheon, and the reception. she was such a beautiful bride!
me and my jake
Her colors were brown and teal so since i had to match, jake decided to go brown too. such a trooper!
thanks danica for letting us be a part of your memorable day!

trying to be a good wife
anyone of you who know jake, knows that he loves sports. any of you who know me know that i don't have a clue. so i am trying to be a good wife right now and act interested in the coveted super bowl. however, i have already failed. i don't know who is playing, who is supposed to win, or what even the score is right now. but at least i am sitting here right? any of you wives/girlfriends/friends that are all into football, kudos. i am really trying. really.
