San Diego Zoo

Man that zoo was huge! We got there right when it opened and stayed as long we (the kids) could.  But I didn't mind the walking because all the trails were gorgeous--so much tree foliage and flowers.  It was like walking through a jungle in most parts.  And, Myer pushed the stroller the whole time so that was a bonus.
^^^^ Panda's! ^^^^
^^^^ Gorilla ^^^^
^^^^ that is one hungry hippo ^^^^
we saw him eat a whole head of lettuce in one bite!
By the end of the day, we did get a little tired and needed a few breaks.  I did not mind.  This was one monkey I could cuddle.

Thanksgiving in the sun

We spent our Thanksgiving week in Carlsbad CA. As soon as we survived the 12 hour car drive, we went straight to the beach.  It was low tide and we could walk all the out on the sand bar with the water just up to our ankles.  It was perfect for Lennon and Myer (and me actually) We played there for a few hours, until the sun went down. Great way to start of our holiday week!
 Next up, the zoo!

Jake's biking weekend

Over the weekend Jake went with his brothers to St. George to hit up a few bike trails.  They rode Bear Claw Poppy and Gooseberry Mesa (both 12-14 miles).   I got some pretty awesome pictures and updates throughout the weekend so I thought I'd share.  He's much braver (and stronger) than me so I'll live through his amazing photos.

game time

Jake was given tickets to the Jazz game from his company which made the perfect date night.  I've lucked out being alone with this guy twice now in one month, I hope I can keep this up.  The seats were great, the ice cream was good, and the game was fun. I really hope we can go again.

my early birthday at Frightmares

Jake and I felt like teenagers again, running around Lagoon's Frightmares for my birthday on Saturday.  We hit all the big rides, some more than once, and even the small rides for nostalgia sake.  Our favorite was Wicked.  AND you would be so proud of me, I WENT THROUGH A HAUNTED HOUSE!  I don't think I've done anything scary since I was 11.  Chalk that one up for a birthday to be proud of.  It might have helped to have my husband with me, the one who understands the most how much of a scaredee cat I really am, to get me through a kid friendly haunt.  But one was enough.
We stayed until the park closed, but not until we got our park treats--a churro and an icee.  Our feet hurt and our necks sore but it was the funnest night.  I love being able to play with Jake because he's basically a teenager at heart.  He makes everything fun.  Thanks for another fun birthday!

vineyard pumpkin patch

We were sick the past two weeks, and Myer even missed his Preschool's Field Trip to the Pumpkin Patch, so we took advantage of the weekend (and healthy babies) and got us some pumpkins.  We walked through the corn maze, played with the farm animals, rode down slides, and then bought our family pumpkins.  It was so good to get out of the house and into the fall air.  I feel like I missed so much of October being cooped up inside for 14 days (yes I counted).  Now I feel ready for Halloween. Thanks little pumpkin patch for getting us back into the Halloween spirit!
