the outdoor movie

Now that we are AFer's we took part in Steel Days.  Only one event, however, as it's hotter than ever so Friday night we hung out in the shade of the trees at the Amphitheater and played simple free carnival games. Myer's favorite was the cow train at the Chick-fil-a booth.  As soon as he was done, he would get right back in line.  The lady running the booth at first knew him as the "cute little red head" and then she knew his name by the end of the night.

Then, once it got dark, we sprawled out on our blankets and got ready for the outdoor big screen movie.  We watched "Wreck It Ralph" and we actually lasted through the whole thing.  Myer set up all his cars in a row right next to him and just sat contentedly.  He was such a good boy even if it was 3 hours past his bedtime.  Maybe we can start doing some more adventurous things...

We didn't see the parade or the fireworks, but that can be added to next summer's list.  We're just so excited to be a part of another city and it's week of celebration.  Feeling more like home already.
